Up Coming Events

On May 30th, 2019, Dalia gave birth to four beautiful girls and a very handsome boy.  Mom and all the puppies are doing well.

On August 6th Audrey blessed our family with 3 beautiful puppies, one handsome boy and 2 beautiful girls.  Mom and puppies are doing well.  We couldn't be more proud of these cute additions.

On August 11th, Amanda and Ashley will be heading out with the young girls, Nora and Hazel, and Dalia to the Kilbride Dog Show for the Schapendoes booster.  Good luck to all who attend.

August 17th/18th the young girls, Nora and Hazel, will be attending the Grand River Kennel Club Show in Rockton.  This will be the first show that Hazel competes as a class dog and not a baby puppy.  Time sure does fly.

Ashley and Amanda will be traveling to Quebec on September 21st to compete at the National Specialty during the Chomedey Kennel Club.  There will be other shows in between, but for the moment we have our hands full with all the puppies.

Happy New Year from all of us here at Messy Hair Kennels.  It was a very busy end to the year with the arrival of our little man Godfrey.  Godfrey is the son of Audrey and Guardian and he was born on December 12, 2018.  He is currently doing well and is anxiously waiting to go to his forever home where he will get to live with his father.

Over the next few weeks, we will continue to socialize and work with Godfrey, but we also have our four other Schapendoes girls too.  Nora, our new import from Sweden, is currently practicing her obedience skills in her training class and has been enrolled in an introduction to agility course for puppies.  She is really blossoming into a sweet young girl.  Audrey is recovering well from having her puppy.  She is a great and attentive mother.  She loves laying with her baby boy.  Dalia and Millie have been relaxing here at home, but show season is coming up so all the girls will be starting their training once again.  We are hoping to have the girls out to both agility and confirmation shows this year, but we are most excited to go to the Schapendoes Specialty in September and of course running our information booth in April at the Canadian Pet Expo.  Stay tuned for more information and updates as information becomes available.

We are glad to announce that Dalia and Lupin's puppies came into this world on Sunday, November 5th.  Dalia gave birth to five healthy baby girls.  As all of puppies were girls, we decided to name them after "Bells of the Ball".  We gave them all Disney Princess names.  The girls for now will be called, Elsa, Belle, Sophia, Jasmine, and Ariel.

So far, mommy and the girls are doing great.  We are carefully monitoring the puppies weight and of course everyone's health.  For now we are giving Dalia and the puppies space, but photos will follow shortly.  Stay tuned for updates.

Well it has been another busy and eventful summer here at Messy Hair Kennels.  But we're not slowing down yet!  We would like to announce that we will be attending the Canadian Pet Expo (CPE) and be showing all our girls, Dalia, Millie, and Audrey, in the Oakville Kennel Club that runs during the event in the International Center on September 9-10th.  Most of all we are excited to be participating in the Canadian Schapendoes National Specialty, Regional Specialty, and Booster which will be held at the Oakville show. Millie has begged all summer long to be removed from retirement and her wish has been granted.  She will be appearing in the show ring as an Altered, while her crazy sister and daughter will be shown in the Specials class and Brace.  Wish us luck as we compete against all the other beautiful Schapendoes.  If you can make it out to the event we would love to see you.

We have been very busy running around with the girls this summer.  Between going to shows and events with our girls on top of the many visitors we have had at the kennel, we have not had a lot of time to update the website.  So just to let everyone know where we will be in the upcoming weeks.

Audrey and Dalia have been hitting the show circuit as much as we can.  And all that hard work has paid off.  Audrey is officially a Champion in both the Canadian Kennel Club and the United Kennel Club.  Audrey even earned her Canine Good Neighbour certificate too.  Millie has been pulled out of retirement and has hit the show circuit with her sisters.  She is being shown as an altered and loves it.  She too successfully passed her Canine Good Neighbour certificate.  Dalia has been working hard in the ring to earn her Grand Championship in the Canadian Kennel Club.  She only has a little way to go.  And if we were not busy enough, Dalia and Audrey have been training in Brace and have successfully competed in events over the last few weeks.  Dalia has even been taking agility classes and loves it!

So where will we be in the next few weeks, The Canadian Pet Expo showing in the Oakville Kennel Club on September 9-10th, 2017.  The Schapendoes Club of Canada will be hosting a booster, sweepstakes, and National Specialty on Saturday September 9th and a Regional Specialty on September 10th.  The girls are looking forward to catching up with the many Schapendoes that will be in attendance as well as meeting the many people who will be coming out to the show.

After the Specialty, the girls are going to focus down on their obedience training and practice so they can enter in obedience and rally trails later this fall to early next year.  We will post as events and details as they emerge.

We are glad to announce that Messy Hair Kennels will have its own booth this year at the Canadian Pet Expo 2017.  The event runs from April 14-16 - the Easter long weekend - and we would love to see all of you.  We will be bringing all our girls with us and are looking forward to the event.

We have been having a great time at the Canadian Pet Expo.  Audrey, Dalia and Millie have loved meeting all the people.  It has been an interesting weekend so far with lots of different sites to see.  We even had the chance to catch up with some of our past litter parents and see the puppies.  But the icing on the cake was when both Audrey and Millie passed their Canine Good Neighbours Test.  Now all three of our girls have the CGN title with the Canadian Kennel Club.
